Border guards uncovered a large-scale counterfeit worth 34 million hryvnias (VIDEO)
As a result of authorized searches in the territory of an industrial zone in one of the districts of Kyiv region, 424 thousand packs of counterfeit cigarettes were found.
The cigarettes were in the refrigerator of the truck, disguised as pallets with empty cans, ready for transport and further sale in the countries of the European Union.
The total value of the detected and seized counterfeit goods is estimated at almost 34 million hryvnias.
Recall that on February 7, at the checkpoint “Krasnoilsk” in the Chernivtsi region in a tanker heading to Romania, border guards found one of these batches in the amount of 65 thousand packs of cigarettes worth 4.5 million hryvnias, and two days later at the same checkpoint more than 165 thousand packs without tobacco excise tax for a total amount of about 12 million hryvnias.
In addition, on February 14 in Transcarpathia, the joint group also found 259 boxes of excisable goods worth more than 3.2 million hryvnias in the tank, which were already prepared for transportation to the EU countries.
The events were held with the participation of detectives of TU BEB in Chernivtsi region, operatives of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, with the strong support of special officers “DOZOR” and under the procedural guidance of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
