The serviceman under the nickname “Hudson” of the State Border Service has on his account two downed Russian aircraft SU-24 and SU-25.

The border guard was trained as an operator of an anti-aircraft missile complex.

The Border Service Division, in which Hudson served, held the defense of Bakhmut.

The battle in which “Hudson” “captured” the first Su-24 recalls as follows: “The enemy is cunning and cunning, trying not to repeat himself, attacking our positions every time from different sides. He flew low, successfully used the terrain,” says the border guard.

The fighter appeared in sight during the attack, and then for no more than 4-5 seconds.

“It all unfolded very quickly. SushKA launched a rocket and tried to quickly hide behind the hill. But I managed to “catch” her and launch a rocket. The plane wanted to escape from the battlefield at speed, the rocket began to catch up with it. Visually I did not see anything, because it was already far away. Subsequently, I was informed that there was evidence of the downing of an enemy aircraft — the Su-24,” Hudson recalls that day.

The story of the second downed plane is also worth a separate story. The plane appeared quickly. He launched missiles, “dropped” thermal missiles - “cheats”, began to deploy after the attack to continue the flight.

“Everything was done quickly and automatically, because it was really a gift of fate. The anti-missile complex recorded with all sensors as soon as it was activated. Electronics made it clear that the target was captured and ready to “hunt”. The launch of the rocket was successful and I watched how it began to move behind the enemy SUŠKA and firmly held it “on a chain”, — recalls the border guard.

After the plane and the missile disappeared over the horizon, the border guard heard a loud rumble. After a short period of time, he received confirmation that the aircraft, as the Su-25 turned out later, had been shot down and had suffered a crash.

By the decree of the President of Ukraine, the serviceman under the nickname “Hudson” was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky III degree. And by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - the award “Firearms”.
