The President of Ukraine announced the results of the meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko
In the evening traditional address, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the meeting with the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine:
● Agreed further steps for the development of the State Border Service of Ukraine and border troops.
● We discussed the issue of increasing the number of border troops - both in view of the current tasks of protection against Russian aggression, and in view of the long-term protection of the borders of our state after this war.
Also, the Minister of Internal Affairs reported on the main security issues within our country now, in particular on the work of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in mining. In addition, Volodymyr Zelensky in his address noted the border guards who have shown themselves especially in these weeks and months:
“Border guards of the Sumy detachment, who oppose Russian saboteurs and strengthen our defensive positions on the border. To all of you warriors, thank you! Sergeants Artem Pedora and Alexander Poroskun deserve special gratitude. Chernihiv border detachment: Master Sergeant Sergey Khomenko, Senior Sergeant Sergey Shvets. Thank you! Kharkiv Border Detachment: Senior Soldier Valekh Zarbalyev and Master Sergeant Andrey Sizonov. Thank you guys for destroying Russian equipment and clearing Russian mines! Of course, I am grateful to all who are fighting at the front, along with all the units of our Defence Forces. Soldiers of the Rapid Response Border Command of the Volyn Border Detachment, the “Revenge” and “Steel Border” brigades, as well as the soldiers of the special unit of the DOZOR. All well done,” the President of Ukraine stressed.
