Holding the post of Second Secretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, in 2020-2021, the woman entered false information into electronic registers and thus issued 23 visas for entry into Ukraine to citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the People's Republic of Bangladesh and other countries from the so-called list” countries at risk of migration.”

Some of those who crossed the border illegally intended to obtain visas and illegally cross into European Union countries. Others planned to stay in Ukraine on legal grounds. However, after the start of a full-scale offensive, everyone left outside Ukraine to the EU countries.

For her “services” for illegal visa issuance, the consul took $3,800. After paying the bribe, the defendant received a Ukrainian visa at the consulate and freely entered the territory of Ukraine from any country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the criminal's work from August 2018 to September 2023, the consulate issued 900 visas without approvals. During this same period of time, she bought three apartments in Kiev and one in Odessa for a total cost of half a million dollars.

Investigators of the National Police under the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted sanctioned searches at the place of residence of the criminal, during which they found ten thousand dollars, correspondence with those who wanted to illegally cross the border of Ukraine, a laptop with lists and passport data of “clients” and other evidence.

All this allowed, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, to inform the Consul about the suspicion of facilitating the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine by providing means and removing obstacles committed for selfish motives by an official using his official position (Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The defendant faces up to 9 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold office for up to three years and confiscation of property.
