During the International Human Rights Conference “UA: Human Rights in Dark Times”, organized by the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine in Kyiv, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko recalled the important role of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She stressed that each of them on their front today is defending the country from the enemy's offensive, as well as defending the rights of every citizen, returning calm and order to the de-occupied territories.

“War is a total violation of human rights. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainians have faced total violence: murder, torture, sex crimes, captivity, deportation, filtration, destruction of civilian and critical infrastructure, and much more evidence that Russia is once again committing genocide of our people. — said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

She stressed that the police and the State Emergency Service will be the first to enter the de-occupied territories after the military. In extremely difficult conditions, they carry out stabilization measures - they devalue territories, carry out “cleanups”, record war crimes and work with the local population. People are always happy and sometimes with tears in their eyes to meet them.

Also during the event, the deputy minister said that so far the police have provided stabilization measures in 568 liberated settlements. The units of the State Emergency Service examined and cleared 76 hectares of territories, removed more than 300 thousand GNP. And about 30% of the country's territory is still in need of demining.

“The important thing is that now there are almost no people left in the world who do not consider Putin a war criminal, and Russia is a terrorist country. Special thanks to our international partners, true friends of Ukraine, who support us in this struggle for people and their rights. We are sure that the global system of human rights protection is in crisis and needs to be changed. After all, if one of the countries decided to disrupt the world order, it is now completely safe,” added Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
