Full functioning of 112 system is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, - Bohdan Drapyaty
The establishment and implementation of 112 is also one of the commitments under the Association Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, on the other. Even in the conditions of martial law, Ukraine complies in good faith with the obligations stipulated by the Association Agreement with the EU. “What is the essence of the 112 emergency communication system? Notification of the onset of an emergency and appeal for help is carried out by a single telephone number — 112. For example, if there was an accident in an unfamiliar place (it is difficult to determine the address) with a car on fire, injured persons or a fatal outcome — as of today it is necessary to call the services by different phone numbers (101 - fire service, 102 - police, 103 - ambulance) and duplicate the information each time (What happened? Where? Who applies?), when every second is fateful and the person is in a state of stress. Thanks to the single emergency service system, the algorithm is significantly simplified: a person calls a single number 112, and the operator can determine the location by geolocation and send firefighters, police, ambulance and rescuers at the same time as necessary,” Bohdan Drapyaty wrote.
According to him, the methods of functioning of this system correspond to the key values of the EU countries: quality, efficiency, efficiency, manufacturability and human-centricity.
Bohdan Drapyaty noted that the first stage is the adoption of the draft Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving the System of Emergency Assistance to the Population at the Single Telephone Number 112", which was approved by the Parliament in the first reading on August 15, 2022 with the definition of shortened preparation deadlines Second reading. The draft law, in particular, provides for expanding the powers of operational and dispatching services that receive emergency communications by numbers 101, 102, 103, 104 and to give emergency services the right to automatically receive information about the subscriber's location (geolocation data).
