Today, the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink handed over protective clothing and rescue tools “Weber” for the needs of the State Emergency Service, with a total cost of about 22 million hryvnias. This assistance came as part of the cooperation of the Ukrainian Rescue Service with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the project “Improving the efficiency and accountability of local governments” (HOVERLA).

Delivering the aid, the Ambassador stressed: “I am proud that today, together with the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin and the Head of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kruk, I can personally thank the people who are eliminating the consequences of Russian aggression in Ukraine. I was able to see firsthand what terrible means Russia is using in its devastating, unprovoked war against Ukraine. And so my deep respect today is for all the rescue service personnel. I also thank USAID Mission Director in Ukraine Jim Hope and USAID GOVERNOR Project Manager Gabriel Abraham, who are here with me for the help we can deliver today to Ukrainian rescuers. The United States of America will remain with Ukraine as long as it takes for your complete victory.”

First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin in response thanked — in the person of the Ambassador — all the American people for their unprecedented assistance and noted that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has one of the highest levels of trust in Ukrainian society, and it is well deserved. After all, the range of her work is extremely wide — from demining territories to evacuation of civilians, dismantling of rubble destroyed as a result of enemy shelling and extinguishing large-scale fires caused by enemy aggression at various infrastructure facilities, for example, oil bases, chemical enterprises Walls, etc.

The head of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kruk, in turn, introduced the high-ranking guests with the most modern samples of pyrotechnic and rescue equipment manufactured in Ukraine already during the period of large-scale Russian aggression, noting that the SNS needs more and more similar equipment, because of the scale of assistance provided by the Service in a wide variety of areas of coping with the consequences of Russian aggression, they are growing.

“Therefore, from myself and from the entire State Emergency Service of Ukraine, I sincerely thank President Biden, the Congress of the United States, the entire American people for world leadership in supporting our state, for your clear position. We are grateful for the support of the SNS. I can assure you that ordinary firefighters are well aware of the level of your assistance, they realize that without the support of our rescue service partners, it would be a hundred times more difficult to eliminate the consequences of enemy aggression and eventually, after our victory, to create a new safe space in Ukraine”, - stressed the Head of the State Emergency Service.

At the end of the meeting, the high guests viewed an exposition highlighting Russian aggression in Ukraine and promised to continue close cooperation with the Rescue Service in the future.
