The police neutralized the activities of the Kryvyi Rih drug cartel, whose participants “supplied” drugs to almost all regions of Ukraine
More than 1,200 law enforcement officers today, February 27, conducted a special operation and detained 37 members of the criminal community, including ten leaders.
As a result of the searches, weapons, ammunition, drugs, money in national and foreign currency were seized. According to preliminary data, the monthly profit of the defendants from the sale of drugs reached more than one million US dollars.
During the year, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine and the Main Investigative Department of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office carried out documentation of a criminal organization whose participants manufactured and sold drugs.
Operational developments were carried out in strict secrecy, and a limited number of law enforcement officers knew about the date, time and place of the special operation. As a result of this large-scale work, the police documented the illegal activities of drug cartel members, established places of manufacture of drugs and traced the ways and channels of their sale.
The organizers of the drug business were three residents of Kryvyi Rih, who have connections in the criminal environment. They even enlisted the support of several media outlets, through which they previously distributed false materials about law enforcement officers documenting criminal drug groups in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The market of drugs covered almost all regions of Ukraine. For uninterrupted trade, those involved thought out logistics and arrangement of storage points.
The funds from the sale of drugs, which are more than a million US dollars of “profit” every month, were transferred by the leaders of the gangs to the leaders of the criminal community, who distributed them among all persons involved in the drug business.
