Police Battalion “Luhansk-1” Denis Sliptsov was killed while liberating Kharkiv
Police sergeant, police battalion of the special purpose police patrol service “Luhansk-1” named after Hero of Ukraine Sergey Gubanov” GUNP in Luhansk region Denis Sliptsov died during the liberation of the village of Verbovka in Kharkiv region as a result of a hostile massive air strike on the population item.
The policeman fell into the epicenter of the shelling. The brothers to the last did not believe in his death and tried to save Denis, but the efforts were unsuccessful.
Denis Sliptsov stayed for 29 years forever. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Denis, without hesitation, came to the defense of Ukraine. During all this time, he saw his family only twice. On March 8, when there was a heavy shelling in Severodonetsk, the policeman brought Milica's wife a bouquet of tulips.
“It struck me very much at the time, because where could you find flowers on such days?” - recalls the woman.
The second and, unfortunately, last time they saw each other on August 24, before Denis left for positions in the Kharkiv region. The policeman promised to return for his youngest daughter's birthday on October 1, but the plans failed to materialize. Colleagues remember Denis as a kind and decent person.
“Determined, hardworking. What he did not do, he did it to the end. I wanted to see Victory and made a lot of effort to bring it closer,” said Grigory, one of Denis' comrades.
Another colleague Artem recalls that Denis was always smiling: “Even during the shelling, he found a reason for jokes to cheer up the guys.”
Denis's wife also said that at the most difficult time he did not lose heart, smiled and supported others:
“I never heard fear in his voice, he always said that everything would be fine and Victory would be for us.”
The man loved children very much. For him, they were the most valuable in life. Denis spent all his free time with them. The deceased defender had two daughters.
Denis Sliptsov was posthumously awarded the Medal “Defender of the Fatherland” for his personal courage and selfless service to the Ukrainian people by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Denis Sliptsov was posthumously awarded the Medal “Defender of the Fatherland”. The award was received by Denis's wife.
