The White Angel evacuation group takes residents out in an armored capsule and accompanies those who leave in their own vehicles. To help everyone and respond as quickly as possible to the shelling, the police formed additional crews.

Evacuation takes place under the coordination of Donetsk OVA, and rescuers from the State Emergency Service are also involved. About 1900 residents remain in Avdiyivka. Most of them live in the private sector in the old part of the city. In addition to the “White Angels”, police detachments were sent to the “red zone”. The task of law enforcement officers is to provide immediate assistance to the population during air strikes and artillery attacks, the number of which has increased significantly.

The streets of Avdiyivka are extinct. People leave shelters only for food, water or to the hospital. But every way out is a deadly risk. “Recently, a woman died when she went to a well to collect water. A man was wounded,” says Gennady Yudin, a member of the crew of the “White Angel”.

To get to the right address, the policeman must first clear the road from pieces of concrete and plastic - what used to be a house. Escaping shells and shrapnel, Gennady drives around cautiously. In the armored car there are spare wheels, medical equipment, children's body armor. All that may be needed for salvation.

This time, the police evacuated the elderly, who were asked to be picked up by their relatives who had left earlier. One of the residents first put a cat and yard dog, Aliska, on board, which he looked after and took with him to a safe place. “The basement was walking when the rockets hit. It was very scary,” says another passenger.

Both “White Angels” are local and understanding residents, because their families are going through the same thing. “This is where my grandmother lived on the fifth floor,” Dmitry Solova shows the burnt out house “white angel”.

Police officers went around locations where people might be, persuading them to leave. In addition, along the route they checked the property in broken stores where looters can operate. After the missile strike, the “angels” found a tattered but surviving flag on the ground and returned it to the place of majorita as a symbol of the indestructible Avdiyivka.

While this material was being prepared, a tragedy occurred in Avdiivka — a 5-month-old baby and his grandmother died as a result of the shelling. Parents hospitalized with injuries. The day before the arrival, the police persuaded the mother to leave and save the child. It was not the first attempt to convince a woman, but in vain. The enemy is hitting residential buildings in a chaotic manner, so the only way to survive is to evacuate before it's too late.
