Half a million hryvnias of profit per month: a group of drug dealers exposed
The capital's law enforcement officers have exposed four accomplices who were involved in drug trafficking. Violators “earned” about half a million hryvnias per month from criminal activities.
Four acquaintances set up the sale of cannabis from the Poltava region to the capital through postal items. Two attackers were engaged in processing and packaging of drugs on the territory of a private farm in Poltava region and sent parcels to Kiev. Two other defendants carried out direct sales of wholesale cannabis batches on the territory of Kyiv.
Monthly income from drug business brought offenders about 500 thousand hryvnias. Recently, the police documented another fact of the sale by intruders of almost 500 grams of cannabis in the amount of 74 thousand hryvnias.
During the searches, investigators seized material evidence of the criminal activity of drug addicts: about three kilograms of marijuana, 15 kilograms of cut hemp plants, 50 hemp inflorescences, laptops, mobile phones, bank cards, electronic scales, shredder, polyethylene vacuums bags, cardboard boxes and other containers with residues of plant matter.
The estimated cost of seized prohibited substances is about one million hryvnias. In addition, during the searches, law enforcement officers seized 36,500 hryvnias, 1,600 dollars and 730 euros from the defendants.
Four detainees were informed of suspicion of committing a crime provided for in the second part of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal acquisition, storage for sale, shipment, as well as illegal sale of a drug committed by a previous conspiracy by a group of persons and the same actions committed Repeatedly. The sanction of the article provides for up to ten years imprisonment with confiscation of property. Currently, the court has opted for preventive measures in the form of detention for three defendants, and for one - house arrest.
