Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed more than 1,142 explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service daily inspect the territory of the country, detect, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. In the past day alone, 9 sorties were made, during which 16 explosive objects were seized and destroyed.
In particular, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Zhytomyr region destroyed two munitions from the past wars, discovered near the villages of Pryazhiv and Khychiv, Zhytomyr district. In the first case, scrap metal seekers came across an unknown metal object, in the second - a random passer-by. Arriving at the sites of the challenge, a group of pyrotechnic works identified the finds as artillery pieces from the time of past wars.
All recovered explosive items are taken to a special place and destroyed by detonation.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Thus, during the past 24 hours, January 17, pyrotechnic calculations of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region surveyed 0.31 hectares of the territory of the region in Severodonetsk and Shchastin districts, where 28 explosive objects were detected and seized: 1 artillery shell, 26 mortar mines, 1 explosive.
Last day in Donetsk region, in the forest zone outside the village. Rybinske Volnovsky district, seized and destroyed 4320 rounds of 5.45 mm, RPG 22 — 3 units, PG 7L — 1 unit, PG 7C — 4 units, fire grenade UZRGM — 2 units, grenade F 1 — 8 units, mine TM 62 — 1 unit, mine MON 50 — 1 pc., twill 200 gr. 8 personnel and 2 units of equipment were recruited from the Main Directorate.
In total, since the beginning of the year, fire engines of the State Emergency Service have already seized and destroyed 1,142 explosive objects, including 4 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service once again recalls the rules for the safe handling of explosive or unknown objects.
It is strictly forbidden:
- to touch or move a suspicious object; - to fill it with liquids, to cover it with soil or to cover it with something;
- to exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosive substances are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects;
- try to neutralize the find yourself.
In case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this to the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
