Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to provide assistance to regions left without electricity supply - Yevhenii Yenin
First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin joined the national tele-marathon “United News”, where he spoke about the state of electricity supply in the regions of Ukraine, the work of the Points of Inviolability and the basics of safety rules when using alternative sources of electricity supply and heating.
According to Yevgeny Yenin, the problem with electricity supply exists in 524 settlements of seven regions of our country. In particular, these are 112 settlements in Kharkiv region, 95 Donetsk region, almost the same number in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhia oblasts. There is also a problem with power supply in 43 settlements of Luhansk region and in 14 points of Sumy region.
“Emergency rescue workers continue to provide some infrastructure facilities with mobile power generators. It should also be noted that due to the emergency shutdown of the light, people begin to heat the house with alternative heating devices due to increased cases of carbon monoxide poisoning. Within 24 hours - there are victims, this is a child in Kryvyi Rih, two people in Volyn and we have three more hospitalized in Kyiv region,” the First Deputy Minister informed.
He also said that poisoning statistics are increasing, so attention should be paid to safety rules and handling of carbon monoxide, especially indoors.
“The State Emergency Service of Ukraine continues to deploy the Points of Inviolability, which were created on the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine, about 1000 points have already been opened in Ukraine, where everyone can find shelter during a prolonged power outage, as well as warm up, drink warm tea, charge gadgets and get mobile communication. We also see an increase in visits by ordinary citizens to police stations, where we also help,” Yevgeny Yenin noted.
