New helicopters are already patrolling the Ukrainian border
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has completed the next stage of acceptance of light multi-purpose helicopters type H125 manufactured by AIRBUS HELICOPTERS.
The first helicopters equipped with powerful video cameras, in particular thermal imaging, have already taken off for aerial monitoring of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The monitoring equipment of the helicopters can effectively monitor and conduct video recording of the situation from a considerable distance.
Recall that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been using AIRBUS H125 to provide service activities since the beginning of 2020. However, five cars that arrived for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in November-December 2021 have significant advantages. They are equipped with an optical-electronic surveillance system that allows monitoring, including in infrared mode. At the same time, the thermal imaging camera allows you to detect the vehicle at a distance of up to 20 kilometers. The equipment makes it possible not only to record video in high quality, but also to transmit it in real time using satellite equipment. Helicopters are also equipped with an alert system with loudspeakers and specialized aviation searchlights, which can be used synchronously with the optical and electronic surveillance system.
The maneuverability and carrying capacity of H125 helicopters make it possible to perform flights with operational groups on board, and the latest models of radio equipment support operational interaction and coordination of border units performing tasks to protect the State Border of Ukraine. The first two helicopters are equipped with optical-electronic surveillance system, already included in the Kharkiv separate aviation squadron of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Acceptance of three more new propellers continues. In general, within the framework of the creation of the Unified Aviation Security and Civil Protection System in Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is to receive 24 new H125 helicopters of the French company Airbus Helicopters.
