Natalia Naumenko: In 2022, the migration service will be reformed to make administrative services more efficient and accessible
Today, February 4, presenting a public report on the results of the State Migration Service of Ukraine for the past year, the head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Natalia Naumenko spoke about the department's plans for 2022. According to her, significant changes may affect the structure and personnel of the migration service.
“In 2021, the structure of the State Tax Service of Ukraine did not undergo significant changes. Today we have 573 territorial units. But in September last year, the team of the migration service, experts held a series of meetings to understand what actually needs to be changed both in the apparatus and in the regions, in order to possibly update the staff, increase work productivity, awareness in the field of migration legislation,” the head of the migration service noted.
According to her, the updated model of development of territorial bodies of the State Tax Service was presented for consideration by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky and published on the official website of the DMS.
As emphasized by the head of the DMS, the territorial bodies and units of the SMS need a radical change in their work, as long as they are created in accordance with the administrative-territorial structure in force until 2021.
“At the same time, we understand that the migration processes that take place in Ukraine and in the world are not sustainable and constantly changing. We must respond quickly to the current shifts in migration priorities and pay more attention not only to the quality of the provision of administrative services, but also to the quality of combating illegal migration in Ukraine. Therefore, the DMS needs certain changes — both structural and functional”, — summed up Natalia Mykolaivna.
Thus, the priority of the State Migration Service is now to bring the structure of the territorial bodies and units of the migration service into line with current challenges and threats and the creation of an effective and flexible system capable of promptly and adequately responding to any migration risks and threats.
