Drugs at the border and evaders on duty: the situation over the past day
On a daily basis, border guards continue to detect offenders of state borders of Ukraine who are trying to illegally transport prohibited goods or substances, or want to escape.
Yesterday, September 13, a foreigner born in 1969 arrived at the Porubne checkpoint, whose purpose of stay in Ukraine was tourism. During the passage of border control, a service dog of border guards worked on this citizen and his suitcase.
During a subsequent check in a pack of cigarettes and in personal belongings, law enforcement officers found a substance of plant origin, previously marijuana. On this fact, a report was sent to the National Police.
And in Odesa region, border guards detained the organizer of illegal transportation of people across the border and 6 evaders. The organizer of the illegal transfer of persons across the state border, together with four men of conscription age, was detained at night by the border guards of the Izmail detachment near the village of Kubei.
Having agreed in advance, the dealer had to deliver residents of Kharkiv, Odessa, Kherson region and Zaporizhzhia to the state border on his car. For such a service, they had to pay him 3 thousand US dollars each.
Currently, the organizer has been detained, investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings. Protocols on administrative offenses under Article 204-1 of the KUPP “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine have been drawn up for four persons.
In addition, on the same night, the border outfit in this direction detained two more evaders from Sumy and Poltava regions. Appropriate administrative protocols have been drawn up for violators.
In just one day, on September 13, 83 thousand people and 19 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region). Last day 42 thousand people left Ukraine. 25 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova. Over the past day, 41 thousand people followed Ukraine, 32 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine.
83 trucks with humanitarian aid were issued. For the attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine, 34 people were detained — 1 of them tried to cross the border illegally at the checkpoint, another 33 were detained outside the designated crossing points.
