The National Police handed over to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine a unique decoration of the III century
In February 2023, police seized the treasure after it was illegally sold on an online forum. Analogues of the found antiquity are the most famous exhibits in the main museums of Denmark and Sweden.
The experts of the museum carried out the attribution of the archaeological find and determined the authenticity and authenticity of its origin.
On August 8, law enforcement officers handed over to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine for responsible storage the belt of the III century, which in the near future can be seen at the presented exhibition. The monument is associated with the military culture of the ancient Germans, who at that time migrated through the territory of modern Ukraine.
Recall that the employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations together with the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police exposed the so-called “black archaeologist”, who excavated a rare archaeological find on the territory of Khmelnytsky region — a silver plated copper belt — a silver plated copper belt, dated to the 3rd century. The treasure was seized after it was illegally sold on an Internet forum.
The “Black” archaeologist under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office was informed of the suspicion of Art. He's 193. (Illegal appropriation by a person of the property found or someone else's, which accidentally ended up in her possession) and Art. 198. (Acquisition, receipt, storage or sale of property obtained by criminal means) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For reference: the found treasure, in accordance with the current legislation, constitutes a cultural value, the ownership of it is acquired by the state, objects of archeology cannot be objects of sale, collection by private individuals and exported outside the state.
