Three additional security points appeared in the high-mountain villages of Mizhgirya, Synevyr and the village of Izki. Also, community police officers started the service, who will monitor law and order in almost 40 settlements and take care of the safety of more than 38 thousand local residents.

Today, March 2, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zakarpattia region Yaroslav Kolesnyk together with the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration Viktor Mykyta and representatives of the local authorities opened new police stations in the mountainous area of the region.

Three community police officers, provided with transport and everything necessary, will serve 39 settlements, where more than 38 thousand citizens live. The permanent presence in these territories of the POGs is especially important, because the picturesque region receives many tourists, and with the beginning of the war a lot of temporarily relocated Ukrainians found shelter here.

“For the full implementation of the “Community Police Officer” project, we plan to significantly increase the number of POGs. This will improve the efficiency of the police, contribute to better communication with the population. And most importantly, it will provide an opportunity to more closely monitor the law and security of every local resident,” said Yaroslav Kolesnyk.
