In Kharkiv region, police explosives destroyed a FAB-500 aviation bomb with 300 kg of explosives
Kupyan district of Kharkiv region suffers daily from chaotic artillery shelling and air strikes.
A large proportion of munitions do not explode and remain in extremely dangerous condition in settlements and on agricultural land, and therefore carry a mortal danger.
So, the other day local residents turned to the police, who during agricultural work found ammunition in a field near the settlement.
“This is one of the most dangerous munitions available in the Russian army. The plane bomb contained 300 kilograms of explosives. When it explodes, it leaves behind a hole 5 meters deep and 30 meters in diameter,” said Volodymyr Khomenko, head of the Explosive Service Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
In turn, the explosives specialists of the GUNP of Zakarpattia, Kirovohrad and Luhansk regions, working in Kharkiv region as part of a consolidated detachment, manually dismantled the air bomb detonator and transferred it to a transportable condition.
The dangerous munitions were then removed from the area where the explosion could cause critical destruction and destroyed at a special detonation site.
