Four police stations opened in Donetsk region
The project “Community Police Officer” started in Mariupol TG. Five police officers will take care of the safety of 19 thousand citizens. Today, January 19, officers received modern offices and new Suzuki Vitara service cars. In the communities of Donetsk region, 20 police stations have already been opened, which ensures the constant presence of police close to the residents.
The stations worked in the settlements of Staryi Krym, Berdyanske, Vinogradne and Pokrovske. In total, residents of 13 villages and settlements that are part of the Mariupol territorial community will receive the new police service.
“Five community police officers will be with you at all times, taking care of your problems, providing ongoing assistance, and living in this community, spending 80-90 percent of their time with you, and therefore feeling and understanding your needs, because they will become their needs. Together we will increase the level of security in every village,” said Ruslan Osipenko, the chief of police of Donetsk region.
Each community officer is provided with new vehicles, special equipment and equipment necessary to respond promptly to any challenges. The new offices have created comfortable conditions for receiving citizens. The equipping of police officers is the result of the joint efforts of the National Police and the community. For the implementation of the project, the Mariupol City Council allocated 4.3 million hryvnias.
“Every suburb, every village should feel safe. The “Community Police Officer” is the foundation of community safety and development. With the support of the National Police, Mariupol is one of the safest cities in Ukraine, even at a special time, under special conditions,” said the chairman of the Mariupol City Council Vadim Boichenko.
Police officers of the community have passed competitive selection and special training, have first aid skills in various situations — from accidents to drowning.
For reference: In total, 18 territorial communities joined the “Community Police Officer” project in Donetsk region, in which 20 police stations were opened.
