“We will take revenge on everyone”: the history of the Luhansk border patrol in the documentary project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “On the Border”
They are on borders, on boundaries, on the verge of life and death, the limits of opportunity and humanity. They are on security guard. They were the first to meet the enemy and the first to give battle. And now, together with the defense forces, they stand guard for independence. They are border guards.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine presents the documentary project “On the Verge”. In this issue - about the formation and heroism of the legendary Luhansk border detachment, on the basis of which the Brigade of the Guard of the Offensive “Revenge” was created.
To avenge the fallen comrades and return home to Luhansk region is the main goal of the fighters of this unit.
“The slogan of our border patrol is “reborn to win.” Victory will be and will be for us. We will definitely return to Luhansk region, directly to Luhansk, to Mirny 21 - our place of permanent deployment. We will remind and take revenge on everyone who brought us losses on their way,” says the head of the Luhansk border detachment Oleksandr Osipets.
The border guards of the Luhansk detachment took part in the battles for Stanytsia Lugansk, Schastya, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Kreminna, Rubizhne, Lyman, Slavyansk, Soledar and Bakhmut. Now they perform tasks along the entire line of contact - from Kupyansk to Avdievsky directions.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the border guards counted dozens of captured occupiers, three downed enemy aircraft, hundreds of destroyed Russian drones, units of armored vehicles, warehouses and liquidated invaders.
