“We can share the experience gained during the war with Czech colleagues” — Igor Klymenko

This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko in Lviv, during a joint briefing with the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic Vit Rakushan.

According to Igor Klimenko, Ukraine and the Czech Republic have signed a Declaration on the directions of cooperation between the departments. The next step is a joint agreement on security and cooperation.

“We are preparing a major agreement concerning the fight against organized crime, the protection of our citizens, the possible work of Czech police officers on the territory of Ukraine — precisely in the performance of police functions, training of Czech police officers,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said.

The Ministry will pay special attention to the cooperation of the internal affairs bodies of the two countries, in particular with regard to the investigation of war crimes.

“The police of Ukraine in two years have tremendous experience. Two years ago, the Czech Republic helped us with trainings, today we can already share our experience with our colleagues. We are talking about the exchange of registers, which relates to the investigation of war crimes and the exchange of information about war criminals. We are talking about our common security,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.

The meeting of the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with the Czech delegation headed by the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic Vit Rakushan took place on March 1, 2024 in Lviv.
