Mary Akopian: In the face of war, we must first of all take care of the safety of children in schools

According to the results of comprehensive inspections, which were carried out, including by the employees of the State Emergency Service, more than 51% of educational institutions are ready for the educational process. Deputy Minister of the Interior Mary Akopian wrote about this on her Facebook page.

“Today, school is not about the usual learning space and fussing at recess. In the face of war, we must reorient ourselves, together with teachers and parents, be flexible and take care of the safety of children first. According to the results of comprehensive inspections, which were carried out, including by the employees of the State Emergency Service, more than 51% of educational institutions are ready for the educational process. The best indicators in providing shelters in Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Lviv regions,” Mary Akopyan wrote.

The Deputy Minister today opened the Unified Security Lesson in the capital's Lyceum “Holosiivskyi” No. 241.

“This knowledge during the war period is a priority. Fifth graders enthusiastically learned the rules of mine and fire safety, handling during air alarms, traffic rules. Now they know exactly by heart the emergency service numbers,” said Mary Akopian.

She also added that, together with colleagues from the SNS and NPU, they also talked with educators.

“We visited the shelter prepared according to the norms of the educational institution and assured that it will really be safe to study offline in the lyceum. She also handed over products developed by UNICEF Ukraine and our rescuers to the lyceum for conducting mine safety lessons,” said Mary Akopian.
