During the working visit, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a meeting with the heads of the structural units of the National Police, the National Guard and the State Emergency Service of Sumy region, discussed current tasks and sensitive issues, as well as further work during the martial law period.

Mary Akopian visited the regional center and the city of Shostku, where she discussed the strategy of further cooperation with local authorities. She also visited the cities most affected by enemy shelling and are now returning to peaceful life — Trostianets and Akhtyrka.

Despite the temporary occupation, the enemy did not manage to break the Ukrainian spirit of these cities, even more so — they refused to remove Ukrainian flags there. The deputy minister spoke with the heads of local police departments.

“Today, the main tasks are demining the territory, reconstruction work, humanitarian assistance to local residents, as well as countering the enemy DRG and looters,” the deputy minister said.

Mary Akopian thanked law enforcement officers who, in difficult times for the country, continue to serve with honor and dignity in every corner of the region.

“In the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs there are patriots who tirelessly help Ukrainians and from the first days of the invasion they serve with dignity, each in his place,” the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summed up.
