Frauds with land for UAH 2.3 million: ex-chairman and deputy of village council in Transcarpathia will stand trial
The police completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings and sent the indictment to the court.
The officers of the strategic investigations department in the Transcarpathian region and the investigative department of the regional police received evidence of the involvement of the defendants in the criminal offense.
According to the investigation, while serving as the chairman of the village council, the official unreasonably transferred the land plot to private property to a man who had already used his right to receive the land free of charge. This person turned out to be a deputy of this village council. In addition, this plot was located outside the settlement, therefore its disposal was not within the competence of the village council.
On the basis of the received documents, the deputy registered the right of ownership of the land, indicating fictitious data on the use by him before his right to receive the plot free of charge. As a result of fraud, the state suffered losses in the amount of 2.3 million UAH.
The police completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings and sent the indictment against the defendants to the court. The ex-chairman of the village council and the incumbent deputy incriminate the commission of criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 364 (abuse of power or official position) and Part 1 of Art. 366 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
