Latvia transfers 10 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of Donbas

The 25th humanitarian cargo collected in Latvia for Ukraine arrived in the Luhansk region on January 27. 10 tons of cargo were delivered by the Latvian delegation and soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine. The assistance is intended for residents of Stanytsia Luhanska and nearby settlements.

During the mission, Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Malyar together with the Latvian delegation headed by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Latvia Baiba Blodniec visited the Luhansk Regional Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training “Cadet Corps of Heroes of the Young Grad Guards” in the city. The humanitarian aid was collected with the assistance of the leading expert on international military-religious issues of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia, Elmars Plyavins. Despite the fact that rubber loads are accumulated in Latvia, almost all of Europe collects things, in particular, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania are actively included.

The cargo was delivered to the destination by the National Guard of Ukraine and transferred to the Stanichno-Luhansk District Military-Civil Administration. Rubber cargo is intended for the local population.

Recall that cooperation on the implementation of joint humanitarian projects between the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia has been ongoing since 2016. During this time, more than 450 tons of humanitarian goods were delivered to the frontline settlements of Donbas from Latvia.
