On the first day of his appointment as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency, noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will necessarily have certain personnel rotations, relocations and certain changes, but all of them are aimed exclusively at improving the efficiency of the department's work.
“It is necessary that the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs works as a single fist. When someone alone in this mechanism falls out, the failure is felt immediately. Therefore, weak links become noticeable. Of course, there will be some personnel decisions. Exceptionally in the interests of the efficiency of the Ministry's work,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stressed after his appointment as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also spoke about the priorities in the activities of the entire system of internal affairs bodies: “We all
have a common priority - this is the victory of Ukraine over the Russian invaders. Bringing every war criminal to justice. The safety of people and the state. Zero tolerance for corruption at all levels.”
Igor Klymenko recalled that the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a department has always had a wide functionality. And a full-scale war with Russia only expanded it even more. He emphasized that at the moment the main thing is to work on keeping the system in full working condition.
Also, answering the question about the “red lines” defined in the activities of the department, which will outline its zero tolerance to certain phenomena or processes for himself and his subordinates, Igor Klymenko noted: “Corruption and treason are unacceptable things. Both in professional and human terms. This cannot be forgiven.”
