On June 15, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine spoke about the results of the counter-sabotage activities of the police, as well as about the contribution of Ukrainians to it, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine spoke today, June 15, live on the air of the all-Ukrainian tele-marathon #Uaразом.

“From the first days of full-scale military aggression, the authorities of the National Police joined the fight against saboteurs, fire fighters. More than 123 countersabotage groups were created, at least 1.5 thousand people were involved in the work. And the result was not long in coming: more than 800 people suspected of sabotage and intelligence activities were detained and transferred under investigation to the SBU authorities,” Yevhenii Yenin said.

He observed that diversionary groups vary in profile and number, depending on the tasks for which they are created. While at the beginning of the invasion, DGRs of 5-10 people were recorded, the task of which was to commit terrorist acts and sabotage, in particular, in the center of the capital, in the future, the majority of saboteurs are aimed at adjusting the fire, highlighting the positions of the armed formations, fixing the effectiveness of rocket and artillery of the Syrian shelling.

In detecting saboteurs, according to Yevgeny Yenin, one of the effective tools is the service of police at checkpoints using artificial intelligence. With the help of tablets with the appropriate software, the police can check a suspicious person in all databases within a few minutes. In particular, the police database, which contains information on about 2 million potentially suspicious persons who held certain positions in paramilitary units in unrecognized LDPR, cooperated with collaborators since 2014 related to various criminal episodes: smuggling, manipulation of weapons, explosives substances, etc. This database alone contains huge amounts of operational information (more than 10 billion photos) accumulated by the police jointly by partners.

The first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted the assistance of the civilian population in the conduct of countersabotage measures. We are talking about proper treatment of temporary restrictions, in particular curfew, and about informing law enforcement agencies about suspicious persons.

“Only one in ten reports turns out to be true, but it is worth it, because the detection of saboteurs is one of the key factors in ensuring public security in the face of war. And it was thanks to information from our operational sources that it was possible to prevent a terrorist act against the leadership of our State. And after the victory, much more can be said about it,” Yevhenii Yenin noted.

He also called on Ukrainians to continue to inform the police about suspicious persons, not to lose vigilance even in settlements far from hostilities, and to be sure to pay attention to the safety of children.
