Igor Klymenko presented state awards and departmental honors to police and border guards

Today, May 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a ceremony to award police officers and border guards with state awards and departmental awards for courage, resilience and determination in the performance of military duty in the face of armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

At the beginning of the event, the participants jointly performed the National Anthem of Ukraine and honored the memory of the deceased brothers with a minute of silence.

In a congratulatory speech, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko thanked the border guards and police officers for their service. Also, the Head of the Department noted the special police unit “White Angels”, which evacuated thousands of civilians from combat zones:

“The White Angel unit of Donetsk region evacuated hundreds of children and thousands of people from Maryinka, Avdiyivka, Bakhmut and other cities that were attacked by the enemy.”

Further, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, awarded the border guards and police officers with the Order “For Courage” of the III degree, the medals “For Military Service to Ukraine”, “For Impeccable Service to Ukraine” of the III degree and “Defender of the Fatherland”.

The honorific titles of “Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine” and “Honored Lawyer of Ukraine” were also awarded.

In addition, the head of the Ministry presented military departmental incentive awards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Firearms”.

“I want to wish each of you to save your life, the lives of your brothers, to return to your families healthy, for the sake of those who laid their heads in defense of the Motherland. Through you, I would like to say thank you to every employee of the State Border Service and the National Police of Ukraine,” said the Head of the Department Igor Klymenko.

The Minister of Internal Affairs expressed confidence that victory will soon await Ukraine, and all employees of the National Police and the State Border Service will return to their usual work:

“I'm sure, like you, that victory is coming soon. We still have a lot of work ahead of us. After the victory, the border guards will do their usual business - this is the arrangement of borders. The military will return home, and the police will be engaged in fighting crime and maintaining public order.”

After the award, Igor Klymenko wished the border guards and police officers new successes and stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs bears personal responsibility for each soldier of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.

“As the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, I guarantee you medical and psychological assistance, as well as employment. Your feat, your service — it is invaluable for every citizen of our country,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.
