Igor Klymenko on the situation in the flood zone due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant
“We have a reduction in the level of flooding. This situation forces us to take additional measures that will be related to the work of the housing and communal services departments, and with the work of the law enforcement sector,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said on the air of the all-Ukrainian television marathon “United News”.
The Minister also informed that representatives of local authorities are conducting explanatory work with the population. After all, people need to explain the new rules of behavior and at the same time listen to their problems.
“We are working here with the relevant services, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Energy and other services that have to ensure the food and water security of our citizens. We also ensure the presence of law enforcement officers along the entire line of the Kakhovsky reservoir - where the water leaves,” Igor Klymenko said.
The minister assured that surveillance posts with police officers will work around the clock in order to ensure the safety of residents.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that now the units of the State Emergency Service are preparing together with the utilities to pump water from the basements of our citizens.
