Igor Klymenko reported on the results of the first priority investigative actions regarding the detonation of the grenade in Chayki
“The tragedy in Seagulls begins to be overgrown with various information from “sources”. Therefore, I officially announce: As a result of the first investigative actions, it was possible to uncover the first circumstances of the tragedy,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
Today was the birthday of the deceased Major Khasyakov. He returned home from work with gifts from colleagues, which he began to show to his relatives.
He took out a gift box with grenades inside and began to show one of the ammunition to his son. These were grenades of the new Western model.
First, the son took the ammunition into his hands and began to twist the ring. Next, the soldier took the grenade from the child and pulled out the ring, triggering a tragic explosion.
In the apartment, the police found 5 more such unexploded grenades. They will be sent for examination.
Police officers found a fellow soldier who gave a fatal gift. In his office they have already been searched and 2 more similar grenades have been seized. Priority investigative actions continue.
“I urge you not to disseminate unofficial information. The pre-trial investigation continues, wait for the official conclusions of the investigation,” the Minister said.
