Igor Klymenko: Clear coordination of actions between departments is our main task against the background of existing threats
This was emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine during the meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for operational response and ensuring the creation of normal living conditions of the population during the restriction and/or termination of electricity supply.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Digital Resources, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection, the Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development, the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Security Service on transport, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, NEC “Ukrenergo”, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, the National Guard and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the Coordination Staff meeting, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko stressed the importance of creating this working group, because the enemy is insidious and is preparing to attack Ukraine's critical infrastructure again in this year's heating season.
“Our main goal is to respond in a timely manner to all emergencies that will occur in the country. We must understand that the enemy will not stop this winter. That is why analysts of the Situation Center are already calculating all possible actions of Russia. We must preserve the lives of our citizens. Everyone should be provided with everything they need,” said Igor Klymenko.
Thus, according to the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, such Coordination Headquarters will be established at the regional level in order to promptly respond to all threats during the autumn-winter period.
“We are creating appropriate headquarters at the state and regional level that will respond 24/7 to all threats. Currently, the needs of each region are being calculated in order to quickly eliminate all possible problems. We must ensure the smooth operation of health facilities, and citizens must be provided with means of communication, food, water and everything they need. We are also talking about increasing the number of law enforcement officers,” said Igor Klymenko.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stressed that every citizen should know the addresses of the nearest Points of Inviolability. It is for this purpose that the Ministry of Digital Transformation launches the corresponding function in the state application “Diia”. In these points, as last year, uninterrupted access to the Internet will be organized.
“The duties of the headquarters will include the formation of daily analytical and statistical information for the state leadership and the apparatus of the National Security and Security Council. The experience of the past year proves that it is extremely important to ensure public safety and order during prolonged power outages in large cities or entire regions,” said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Sergeev.
