How to go abroad on your own or someone else's car: tips from the Main Service Center of Ukraine
In today's realities, going abroad can be spontaneous or vital. For example, for humanitarian aid, ammunition, cars, etc.
If you decide to leave Ukraine in your car, first check if you have all the necessary documents for the car. You need to have:
1. driver's license
2. vehicle registration certificate issued in the name of the driver or passenger
3. identification mark of Ukraine on a car (UA), the placement of which is not mandatory if there is a UA designation on the license plate;
4. it is necessary to conclude an agreement on compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners means, i.e. — international insurance “Green Card” In addition, the car must have a state license plate containing
Latin letters (individual license plate is valid only on the territory of Ukraine). In addition, the driver who is not the owner of the car must have the same list
of documents as the owners. In this case, the certificate of registration of the vehicle for traveling abroad is issued in the name of the driver or passenger. To do this, you must contact the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the owner of the car and issue a certificate of registration of the vehicle for traveling abroad. You need to take with you a passport, registration number of the taxpayer's registration card and a certificate of registration of the vehicle. After returning from abroad, the certificate of registration of the vehicle in the name of the driver must be returned to the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 10 days. The
power of attorney for the right to drive someone else's car abroad will be valid under several conditions: The document must be translated into the language of the country in which you will be located; Legalize the document in the prescribed manner (perform the procedures that are necessary for the recognition of a
document issued in another country - apostille or consular legalization).
This procedure is more complicated, so it is still better to issue a certificate of registration for traveling abroad.
