Among the wounded were border guards who defended the country in the most difficult directions - Avdievsky, Bakhmut, Kupyansk and others.
Among those released from captivity, those who were returned during the last exchanges — from Donetsk, Luhansk border detachments and Mariupol Marine Guard Detachment. In particular, the captain of the 1st rank Petro Melnyk, who led the Mariupol ZMO and together with his brothers heroically defended Mariupol from the enemy invasion, being captured on the “Azovstal”. “We are waiting for all our boys, our Heroes from captivity.
We will definitely take away everyone who is there, it is only a matter of time. I thank you very much for what you have done at that time. Thanks to you, Ukraine has survived. Your feat is priceless,” said Serhiy Deyneko. The head of the border department also thanked for the dedicated
work and noted the doctors who make every effort to treat and restore the defenders. He emphasized the quality treatment of our defenders.
“Thank you very much to all the medical staff for your professionalism, dedication to the cause. For not counting on time or strength, saving our defenders, our Heroes. Put them on their feet, help. You are doing everything possible and impossible to preserve and save the lives and health of our soldiers. In turn,
we have done and will do everything to ensure that your work is as efficient as possible, and the working and service conditions are as comfortable as possible,” said the Head of the State Border Guard Service.
