After the capture of the village of Nikolaevka by the Russian forces, a 60-year-old local resident supported Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and offered his help to the occupiers. The man voluntarily sheltered, fed enemies and robbed fellow villagers.

Police officers of the Chuguev District Administration established that during the temporary occupation, the intruder settled the occupiers in his house and provided them with products. With the permission of the aggressor military state, the man illegally entered the dwellings of local residents who left for the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. After such “visits” from the houses, the personal belongings of the owners disappeared. For “loyalty” to the occupiers, the offender had privileges over other local residents.

In addition, after the liberation of the village, the man brought ammunition and equipment home from the former positions of the Russian military. He found three anti-tank grenades, a grenade launcher, artillery powder and more than 700 rounds of ammunition, a military uniform, two body armor, three helmets and other items of the Russian army sample.

On April 5, the investigators of the Chuguev RUP under the procedural leadership of the Chuguev District Prosecutor's Office informed the man about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
