Hybrid threats, exchange of experience and new challenges: Ukrainian and Moldovan experts discussed strengthening cooperation
Hybrid threats and challenges resulting from Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine were discussed by Ukrainian and Moldovan experts during the meeting. The event is organized within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Platform for Countering Hybrid Warfare. It was held for the first time in Chisinau on November 21-22.
During the meeting, it was possible to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between the security and defense institutions of Ukraine and Moldova, as well as to strengthen interdepartmental cooperation. Representatives of the Alliance countries and the EU Partnership Mission in Moldova also joined the discussions. Participants focused on a number of issues related to hybrid threats and resilience.
Discussed, in particular, strategic communications and disinformation, governmental and intergovernmental cooperation, energy security and critical infrastructure protection.
“These expert consultations are aimed at strengthening resilience and promoting the prevention and counteraction of hybrid attacks. The presence of such a large number of experts is a unique opportunity to highlight and analyze the joint hybrid risks and threats for Moldova and Ukraine,” said Mikaela Shimakova, head of the NATO Liaison Office in Moldova.
