This was emphasized today, February 9, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko during the opening of the special training ground “Custody records” on the basis of the National Academy of Internal Affairs in the village. Vita Poshtova, in Kyiv region.

“Implementation of the “Custody records” system in police units is one of the priority projects of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the same time, high-quality practical training of cadets and students, who will later work with the system, is important,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

The complex is equipped according to the prototype of a real department and includes the following zones:

  • room of the next part;
  • a room for interviews with detainees and confidential meetings with the defense counsel;
  • a room for conducting investigative (search) actions;
  • a room for detainees;
  • teaching audience.

Kateryna Pavlichenko noted that the system “Custody records” 24/7 records the entire process from the moment of actual detention of a person. This ensures that the rights and legitimate interests of both detainees and police officers are respected.

IMES Chairman Antti Hartikainen stressed that the Mission plans to provide similar training grounds to other SMEs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the near future, it is also planned to equip 55 police departments with the “Custody records” system.

The Deputy Minister thanked the partners of the Consultative Mission of the European Union to Ukraine for their assistance in the implementation of this important project.

“I am convinced that the experience of training and training at such training sites will contribute to the improvement of the professional skills of our law enforcement officers and will help in practice to work out key algorithms of action,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

In turn, Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Cherney said that he strives to prepare trainees and education applicants as much as possible for practical service in police units.

According to the head of the Human Rights Office Ruslan Goryachenko, the training ground should motivate cadets and students to study, because when they start working in the police, the system will record all actions to show that the police officer performs his duties professionally and honestly.
