Denis Monastyrsky: The attack on the shopping center is a blow to the security that Ukrainians seek for themselves and their children
This was emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs today, June 28, after returning from the city of Kremenchuk, where he coordinated the work to eliminate the consequences of the attack of the X-22 missile on the shopping center.
“The attack on the shopping center during the peak caused the greatest losses in the central and western parts of Ukraine. According to the analysis of the police, there were more than 2 thousand people in the shopping center and in the surrounding territory,” Denys Monastyrsky noted.
According to him, 18 bodies of the dead and seven fragments have been found; 21 people are considered missing. There are 24 wounded in the hospital, one of the wounded died yesterday. Among the victims, 1 child with a serious injury is under the supervision of doctors.
In total, 59 people with mine-blast injuries, including concussion, turned to doctors. However, this number may increase, because some visitors and employees of the shopping center and employees of the plant, which is located nearby, today felt the deterioration. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police work with the relatives of the dead and missing.
Also during the briefing it was announced that by the end of today, maximum by tomorrow morning, the dismantling of the shopping center blockages should be completed and the number of dead will be understood. Currently, about 80% of the building has been analyzed.
“Today, the first columns of the world's media are devoted to this crime against humanity, deliberately committed by the Russian military. Meanwhile, Russian pseudo-media spread completely false reports about the explosions of some warehouses, or the testing of our missiles. Together with journalists who worked on site, we toured the entire territory of the shopping center and the territory of the neighboring plant, where building mixtures and construction equipment are manufactured. There is nothing military there and there was not,” Denys Monastyrsky stressed.
According to him, the purpose of the strike was a mass impression of civilians, which is confirmed by yesterday's shelling of one of the districts of Kharkiv, where, according to information today, 9 dead, 32 wounded, including five children of different ages.
“In my opinion, this shelling is evidence of the impotence of the Russian government, which is not able to implement its military plans. Therefore, the Russians began to hit peaceful objects. I rule out that it was a mistake. The goal was to intimidate our civilian population, which began to return to peaceful life. And this is a blow to the security that we want to feel tomorrow and today for ourselves and our children,” Denis Monastyrsky is convinced.
