This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during the inclusion in the live broadcast of the All-Ukrainian tele-marathon UASoM.

“Currently, Sumy region remains the most mined among the de-occupied territories. More than 47% of the territory of the region was mined in the beginning. Now these are islands that remain extremely dangerous, in particular, wooded terrain, where you can not enter,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.

According to him, the 20-kilometer border zone remains completely mined and extremely dangerous, where, due to constant shelling, rescuers cannot begin demining. However, demining on the territory of Sumy region continues continuously and requires the involvement of more specialists and equipment.

“Our rescuers worked on the mining of a small pond near Sumy for two weeks: hundreds of shells were found and lifted from the bottom. This once again shows that our rescuers have a lot of work ahead of us. And it is definitely necessary to increase the number of pyrotechnics and equipment for demining Ukraine,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

He also noted that the enemy continues to clog the territory of Sumy with explosive objects. During the day alone, the Russians fired about 200 mines in Sumy region. Separately, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs drew attention to one of the most dangerous devices - a mini-petal, which has a green color and is inconspicuous in the grass.

“The so-called mini-petal is prohibited by international conventions. It can be installed both directly on the spot, and during shelling with cluster munitions from a long distance: at a height, an explosion occurs and mines clog a large area. In the Sumy region, near the village of Trostyanets, square kilometers are contaminated, including with anti-personnel mines,” the minister said.

Denis Monastyrskyi once again stressed that every Ukrainian in the conditions of war should have elementary skills of home care in order to provide help to himself, or to those who need it, first of all be able to use hemostatic jute.
