Denis Monastyrsky on restoration in de-occupied territories: We have a clear vision of how to work further
Today, on the air of the nationwide marathon, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky spoke about the situation with the work of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the conditions of war, the strengthening of administrative responsibility for the use of false license plates and the resumption of police work in the de-occupied territories.
“All our mornings begin with counting the results of Russian shelling. The goal of this energy terrorism is to return us to the 19th century — without light, communication, heat. If we talk about the services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, only once, yesterday, we had interruptions with access to the registry, but within two hours this access was restored,” the minister said.
Like all state institutions, we deploy the work as follows: if there is an air alarm, people should go down to shelters. As soon as the failure — services are restored.
“We have been working on this principle for more than one month. We managed to restore the work of service centers and the migration service literally two weeks after the start of full-scale aggression. We fully operate 142 service centers out of 161 that worked until February 24. And this is so far,” Denis Monastyrsky said.
During the broadcast, they discussed the innovations of the draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Road Traffic” on the mandatory replacement of driver's licenses, and also talked about increasing administrative responsibility for the use of false license plates.
“The week of the Verkhovna Rada significantly increased the administrative fine for this offense — 1,700 hryvnias. If the violation is re-registered - the fine will be doubled and the driver will be deprived of the right to drive the vehicle for 6 months.”
During the marathon, the Minister of the Interior also spoke about how the police are resuming work in the de-occupied territories:
“I keep it under personal control: the police restored order in 339 settlements of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson regions. There live more than 80 thousand inhabitants. We also restored 13 police units, employees are returning there. In fact, 80 percent of the personnel who previously left have already returned.”
“Today there is a very clear vision of how to work. To the Kherson region, for example, we send employees who have experience in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region.
Also, units of the western regions — Lviv region, Ternopil region, Chernivtsi, are concentrated for work in liberated territories. Now the recruitment to the ranks of the National Police has been announced. Many functions related to the investigation of war crimes and extortion have been added,” the minister explained.
