Denis Monastyrsky: The priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs system is the personal safety of citizens
Today there was a meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky with the Assistant Secretary General of the UN, Assistant Administrator of the UN Development Programme — UNDP Regional Director for Europe and CIS Ivania Zhivkovich.
The Minister stressed the importance of the personal visit of Mrs. Ivanna Zhivkovich to Ukraine, which will allow a better assessment of the situation.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine thanked UNDP for the transfer this week in the framework of the project of material technical assistance of demining equipment for the State Emergency Service.
The Minister noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs gained unique experience during the war period and was open to exchange experience with international partners.
In addition, the Minister informed the partners about the most urgent needs of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, in particular in the field of humanitarian demining, protection of critical infrastructure, restoration of destroyed infrastructure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as for the additional deployment of points of invulnerability.
He noted that the priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs system is the personal safety of citizens:
“First of all, we care about the safety and comfort of citizens, which is why we turn to our partners for support in mining, because it allows to create the right conditions for the restoration of life in the deoccupied territories, as well as in the deployment of points of invulnerability, which allows the population to have 24/7 access to basic needs: electricity, light, heat water and water.”
The Assistant Secretary General of the UN, Navzaim, noted the stability of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the importance of its effective functioning.
“I took into account the voiced needs and plan to make efforts to involve governments and find funding to support projects implemented by the UN Development Programme in Ukraine”
