Civil protection, security of public and educational spaces: Alexey Sergeyev held a meeting of the commission “Security Policy”

In online mode, a meeting of the commission “Security Policy” was held to prepare for the Congress of local and regional authorities under the President of Ukraine. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Alexei Sergeev.

During the meeting, a number of issues were raised, including the provision of civil protection, the safety of public spaces and the educational environment.

During the opening speech, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Oleksiy Sergeev stressed the importance of communication between state authorities and representatives of local and regional authorities for a common result. In particular, he said that thanks to this communication, the Ministry of Internal Affairs managed to quickly work out all the problematic issues regarding the readiness of protective structures. So, as of now it is known that 60,458 objects of protective structures are suitable for use.

In addition, on the agenda were issues regarding the transfer of property to territorial communities in order to further develop the system of voluntary fire wives.

Alexey Sergeev also informed about the work of the department with the deputy corps on joint legislative initiatives in the field of security.

In turn, Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Policy and Environmental Management of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleh Bondarenko noted that the deputy corps is ready to respond promptly, work out and introduce innovations in legislation that will help to be even more effective in the issue of civil protection.

The parties and initiatives to strengthen the security of public spaces, the constituent elements of which are video surveillance systems and control frameworks, were discussed. Special attention was paid to the security of educational spaces, in particular the implementation of the electronic security passport for educational institutions and the implementation of the project Educational Security Service. According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko, SOB officers already work in 402 schools of the state and demonstrate successful results of work.

Currently, six Commissions have been formed, which are working on the list of local and regional authorities collected by the Congress under the President of Ukraine of problematic issues to develop proposals for ways to solve them:

  5. Infrastructure policy
  6. Transformation policy for the future (European integration)
