Today, December 9, there was a memorial service and farewell to the employees of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region, who died during stabilization measures, detonated on an enemy mine in Kherson region. The funeral was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Police, representatives of local authorities and the community.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that immediately after the Armed Forces, the police enter the de-occupied territories and, together with the rescuers of the State Emergency Service, are engaged in humanitarian demining, restoring light and helping to evacuate people. Unfortunately, during such events there are losses among both fire technicians of the State Emergency Service and NPU sappers.

“Today we are escorting the last journey of our Heroes — defenders who come after our army to the de-occupied territory to save tens and hundreds of lives. They will forever remain in our hearts and on our signs. These are real heroes that Ukraine will never forget. We preserve the memory of our brothers and all those who died in this terrible war,” said Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during the farewell ceremony.

Yevhenii Yenin, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, expressed his condolences: “The combined squad of police officers of the Cherkasy region came to the liberated Kherson region in order to bring peace, stability and order there. After all, the police are the first to enter the occupied territory. And bears losses. But that won't stop us for a moment. We will not give the enemy a single chance to sow fear, death and destruction on the territory of our state.”

The head of the National Police of Ukraine, police general of the first rank Igor Klymenko, expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the dead: “The team of the National Police is escorting on the last journey people brave, firm, strong, who could have a future with successes and achievements ahead. Their deaths are a major wound to the entire police force that will never heal. In memory of them, the National Police cannot betray, cannot betray. Without parental care, there are three children left. We give the word to all families: we will always be there. Eternal memory, gentlemen officers!”

Recall that on December 7, a group of Cherkasy policemen as part of a consolidated detachment within the framework of stabilization measures carried out demining of a section of the area in Kherson region and documenting crimes committed by Russian servicemen.
