Administrators of service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs master the basics of sign language
Recently, a training on the basics of sign language was held in Chernihiv region. This is a new approach in providing administrative services to people with hearing or speech impairments.
Employees who attended the training are pleased to note that a person who has never studied it will be able to understand sign language, since most of the gestures are quite logical and duplicate the actions and phenomena they describe.
“This training will definitely help our administrators in their daily work, because every day they meet different people who need to receive our services, and they need to be heard, understood. It will also allow you to master sign language primarily as a means of communication, will ensure the provision of administrative services quickly and conveniently,” said the deputy head of the regional service center of the GSC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Chernihiv region Lyudmila Derkach.
Currently, the goal of the state is to change approaches to the perception of the topic of inclusiveness, in order to create a barrier-free space for all citizens in Ukraine.
It is about creating conditions in everyday life, where it will be comfortable for all citizens, where everyone can freely participate actively in the life of the country. To this end, on the initiative of First Lady O. Zelenska approved the National Strategy for the Implementation of Barriers, which is already at the stage of practical implementation.
The state policy of barrier-free means the formation of such an approach, under which every person in our country can get free access to any sphere of life: study, career building, quiet movement around the country, etc.
