For six months, due to flooding, metro trains will stop running on part of the blue branch in the capital. Because of this, there will be a certain load on the transport system. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko in his Telegram channel, announcing changes in the organization of road traffic in the capital. The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Alexey Beloshitsky, told details about the innovations on the air of the tele-marathon “United News”.
“The burden on public transport is increasing. Its number needs to be increased. You should also change the routes of vehicles. Of course, this is a load on the road infrastructure, so appropriate decisions will be made for this period in order to prevent a transport collapse,” Oleksiy Biloshitsky stressed.
In connection with the redistribution of vehicle flows, changes in traffic will be introduced and the number of patrols on the streets of Kyiv will be increased.
“First of all, we are talking about Lybidsk Square. There are two turnstiles that are loaded with parked vehicles. At the moment, in order to solve the situation, these two rings need to be made passable only for public transport,” said the First Deputy Chief of the Patrol Police Department.
Therefore, the rest of the vehicles will be transferred to the turnpike on Bolshoy Vasylkivska and Antonovych streets. This will facilitate the movement of public transport and redistribute the movement of cars and trucks.
In addition, an additional public transport stop will be arranged on Antonovych Street closer to the entrance to the metro. Also, on more busy sections of the road in the capital, changes in the operation of traffic lights will be introduced.
