66 thousand women defend the country at the front and in the rear in the ranks of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
In a comment to the National News Agency Ukrinform on gender policy in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko noted that about 66 thousand women now work in the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular - in the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and in the State Migration Service.
6,000 women serve in the National Guard, and 400 of them belong to the leadership of the NGU. Also, more than 25 thousand women work in the ranks of the National Police, of which 2 thousand - in leadership positions. In the State Border Guard Service, more than 11 thousand women serve, of them almost 150 - in leadership positions. Currently 12,000 rescuers and 4.5 thousand women work in the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
“I want to say that 5,640 women from the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine have the status of combatants. And, unfortunately, we have 25 women from the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who died in the defense of Ukraine. We also have information about those women who disappeared, those who are in captivity, so the picture may not be complete regarding losses,” the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted.
