30 cars, generators, motor pumps and communication equipment: the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria provided another package of humanitarian assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

30 vehicles were transferred by the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria to the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Teteria, Deputy Head of the Bavarian Free State Bureau in Ukraine Anna Maslak, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and units took part in the ceremony of transfer of humanitarian aid.

First of all, Vasyl Teteria noted the active development of Ukrainian-Bavarian relations in the field of internal affairs, in particular with the Bavarian State Ministry of Internal Affairs and with the Bavarian State Office. Expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation provided. He also noted that the received equipment will be distributed in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“All this equipment will be distributed in the internal affairs system: for border guards, rangers, policemen. We hope this help is not the last. This is a great powerful support for us,” the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs stressed.

In turn, Anna Maslak noted that as part of this aid package, police and fire trucks, motor pumps, emergency generators, sleeping bags, field kitchens and communication equipment have already been transferred to the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Moreover, the next package of humanitarian assistance in the form of vehicles will arrive in the near future.

“The free land of Bavaria has always been and is in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. That is why in March 2023 it was decided by the Council of Ministers of Bavaria to increase this aid package from 5 to 10 million euros in order to continue providing targeted support to Ukraine in the civil sector,” said the deputy head of the Bavarian Free State Bureau in Ukraine.

In addition, in the spring of 2022, Bavaria handed over 20 fire trucks, a fire ladder-trailer and about 160 pallets with fire equipment to the Ukrainian fire brigades. This equipment was handed over to Ukrainian colleagues free of charge by Bavarian fire brigades.

On December 20, 2022, the government of the land of Bavaria decided to allocate 5 million euros for further deliveries of humanitarian aid. Already in the first weeks of 2023, emergency power generators, vehicles, equipment for heating points (emergency power generators, tent heaters with appropriate power lines, tank containers) and fire protection vehicles were purchased from these funds to meet the greatest needs in winter.

In addition, at the end of March 2023. Bavaria received 30 children of dead, captured or missing under special circumstances by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system who had been on a health holiday in Bavaria for two weeks. A rich cultural and entertainment program was organized for children in the city of Munich.

The beginning of bilateral interdepartmental cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria was established in April 1992 by the signing of the Joint Declaration of Cooperation.

In addition, security agencies interact within the framework of the Permanent Ukrainian-Bavarian Working Commission.
