“23 wounded did not deprive me of my desire to defend and go to Victory,” — Donbass National Guard under the pseudonym Wolf
A fighter of the Donbass battalion 15 of the Slavic regiment of the NGU Wolf survived after 23 wounds. He demonstrates extraordinary strength of spirit and prepares to be sure to get back in shape after he recovers.
National Guardsman Igor under the pseudonym Wolf began military service in 2014, with the battalion “Kyiv-1”. Then he served in the airborne troops, and in 2018 he joined the special purpose battalion “Donbass” of the 15th Slavic Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. “Since the full-scale invasion, I took part in battles in the areas of such settlements: Kreminna, Yakovlya, Dronivka, also in Kharkiv Offensive and Liman operations,
” Wolf recalls.
In October 2022, the offensive operation began near the village of Terni, the task of our fighters was to break through the last line of defense of the enemy, and to push it to the border of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“When we set out to execute the combat order, an enemy airstrike was struck along the way and there was a large ravine. Our armored car overturned, then the BTRs got stuck on the right. Our movement stopped, we had to help pull out the equipment, only then I found out that the Eagle-10 “read” us and it was he who provoked the fire,” says the special agent.
After 10-15 minutes, they were hit by the HURRICANE jet system, or rather 4 full cassettes of hurricanes. Wolf, at the time, was between two armored personnel carriers, where he received 23 injuries at once, the debris broke bones and blood vessels in both arms and legs, but the man with the broken arms managed to drag the most dangerous severed artery in his thigh, which allowed to stop the blood. I did not lose consciousness, because I calmly appreciated the situation, despite the fact that, in the first minutes I was alone, I was able to give myself first aid.
Then the guys ran up, put turnstiles and sent for evacuation to Kramatorsk. Thank you, most of the debris was removed there,” the fighter comments.
After that, Wolf was sent to the Dnieper, and then to Kiev, where he got, thanks to volunteers at the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
“I am grateful to the doctors of the institute, they saved my left leg, because from the hip to the knee there was just porridge, and also the left arm, there were very injured bones and muscles,” Wolff adds.
At the moment, he is visiting Kiev, in the future he is expected to undergo surgery, where bone implants will be inserted and prolonged rehabilitation.
According to the National Guard, the motivation to fight is given to him by his family, and especially by his son, who was born a month ago. Wolf is not going to stop and leave military service, his dream is to quickly rehabilitate and return to his brothers.
“A lot of young guys come to the battalion, who need to be trained, adapted and share combat experience. My desire is to defend and go to Victory. By my own example, with advice, I will save dozens or hundreds more lives of our guys,” Ihor notes.
