The challenge that faces us for decades is the demining of Ukrainian lands. He noted this during the Forum “Ukraine. Year 2024” Minister of the Interior.
Already now our sappers from the State Emergency Service, the police and the National Guard are clearing the territory of explosive objects.
“We clearly know where and how many calculations we work on a daily basis. We teach and strengthen our sapper groups. At the moment, the Ministry of Internal Affairs operates 33 mechanized demining machines. We calculated that one day of operation of this machine is 100 days of work of a pyrotechnician or sapper,” Ihor Klymenko noted during the speech.
During the full-scale invasion, our sappers discovered more than 760 thousand explosive objects. The vast majority are in the de-occupied territories.
“The longer our territory is under occupation, the more densely the enemy mines it, but we are ready for this work. Our sappers already have itchy hands to enter the de-occupied territories and continue demining. We are ready for this work,” said the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
