Vladislav Hornod was one of the first who, as part of the assembled detachments, went to deport the de-occupied territories, first in the Kiev region, then in the Kharkiv region.

This is stated in the material of the publication “Censor.net”.

In an interview, the policeman spoke in more detail about his own experience in the issue of demining, in particular about the traps set by Russian sappers:

“One of the most remembered in Kharkiv region is one of the fields where there were a lot of mines in a row, somewhere around four dozen. And one of the anti-tank mines was laid in such a way that it was not visible from the far side. And they put the rest of the mines on top so that they can be seen. Such a mine reacts to a certain weight. If a person steps, nothing happens, it must be the transport that will run over it. They make deceptions so that the person is distracted. He sees the mines laid out, thinks: so, no one here bothered, did not bury. And they buried one so that no one could see and that they would run into it.”

Also, journalists talked with Vladislav about the rehabilitation and return to society of people who lost limbs due to severe injuries:

“They have shown on the battlefield that they deserve to be treated at least as equals. There is no need for a better attitude, the main thing is to be treated as equal to equal. If a person has a purpose, he can develop himself in another area, not just where he was before the war. It opens a lot of doors for a person.”

As you know, during the work in the Kharkiv region, Vladislav was seriously injured and his left leg was amputated to the knee.

At the moment, the policeman has already undergone prosthetics and rehabilitation. He now works in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, helping victims of war and their families.

He also continues to play sports. And at the end of last year, he took part in the World Martial Arts Championship “Combat Self-Defense ISO”, held in Great Britain, and won silver.
